Hot Desserts A La Mode

The apple tart. I quote, "A flaky dessert-crust topped with apples, oatmeal crumble, drizzled with caramel. Served with soft serve vanilla ice cream."

It was good, but man was that sweet. It was sweet as they come. After eating this, you won't need anything sweet for awhile.

Fudge Stuffed Cookie. A warm chocolate chip stuffed fudge cookie served with soft serve vanilla ice cream drizzled with fudge.

I loved it. It wan't as sweet as the apple tart.

I'm not a fan of brownies, so I ain't gonna bother with the Triple Chocolate Brownie.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Syrup
  • 1-2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips, divided
  • PEANUT BUTTER GLAZE (recipe follows)

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
  2. Beat butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl. Add eggs; beat well. Stir together flour and baking soda; add alternately with syrup to butter mixture. Stir in 1 cup peanut butter chips; reserve remaining 2/3 cup chips for frosting. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Frost with PEANUT BUTTER GLAZE. Cut into bars. About 24 bars.

    PEANUT BUTTER GLAZE
    1/3 cup sugar
    1/4 cup evaporated milk
    2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2/3 cup REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips (reserved from brownies)
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine sugar, evaporated milk and butter in small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to full boil. Remove from heat. Quickly stir in peanut butter chips until melted; stir in vanilla. Beat to spreading consistency. About 1 cup glaze.
