Mummified Inca Children

Three mummified children were discovered Volcan Llullaillaco in Argentina in 1999. The girl was a preteen while the two younger one are thought to be between four and five years old. They were from 500 years ago during the time of the Inca Empire. They were part of a sacrifice. They are so well preserved that it looks as if they had just fallen asleep, but that just maybe 'cause they were drugged. The mummies in a museum in Salta, Argentina.

I saw a documentary on TV about these kids and wondered what kind of parent would allow their child to be sacrificed?

Womens Of History

March is Women of history, counterpart of the male who doesn't have a month dedicated to them. We're special. My list is in no order and I did get these from the internet.

  • I start my list off with Hattie McDaniel. Truth be told I only know her as Mammy in Gone with the Wind. She was the first African American who won Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress.
  • Rosa Parks. Who has her own special day; Rosa Parks Day falls on December 1st. She's known for disobeying the bus driver for giving her seat up 'cause the back of the bus where blacks where forced to sit (now and days the best spot).
  • Susan B. Anthony fought for women's right to vote.
  • Ethel Waters became the first African American to star in her own TV show for which she was nominated.
  • Elizabeth Blackwell is the first woman awarded a medical degree by a college.
  • Cora Brown was the first African American elected to a US state Senate in the Michigan State Senate.
  • Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic.
  • Sally Ride was the first woman in space.
  • Eleanor Roosevelt who fought for women causes, black's, poor, and the unemployed.
  • Sacagawea. She helped led the first exploration of the Northwest. She also and helped negotiate sate and peaceful passages through tribal lands.
  • Harriet Tubman who led the underground railroad. She led more than 300 slaves to freedom.

Sabrina Carpenter-A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes

Sabrina puts her spin on the classic song along side the recent Lily James in the live action Cinderella movie, but Disney Channel Circle of Stars (Raven, Brenda Song, The Sprouse Twins, Ashley Tisdale, and Hillary Duff to name a few) also sang the song. As well as on Disney starlets; Cher, Michael Bolton, Bette Midler, and Linda Ronstadt to name a few...that I recognize. Not to mention the original singer Ilene Woods.
OK, back to Sabrina. She records the song in a much softer tone. Each their own, but she sings it perfectly.
Check it out. Hit play.

Shadowhunters: The Descent Into Hell Isn't Easy

WARNING THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS IF YOU HADN'T SEEN IT YET. You can watch it free here: http://www.hulu.com/watch/892698#i0,p0,d0
Ok, so the its starts where it left off in the last episode. Instead of a bottle blonde wannabe goth as Simon says in the book; he calls Jace a Mick Jagger-looking guy. The three head into the old abandon church, but Simon still sees an abandon church 'til Jace draws a rune and well holds hand with Simon to really see the institute.
(Picture speaks for its self in what Simon thinks.)  Simon sees Isabelle for the first time. Lets just say, love at first sight. Jace and Clary head to the training room while Simon more than willingly stays behind with the beautiful Isabelle.
Next scene is in a parking garage where Luke saves a warlock which Luke takes care of.
So at the training room we met Hodge. Think maybe Hodge might be a warlock instead of a shadowhunter 'cause he didn't seem to age. He's described in the book as have graying hair (if I remember correctly) and though he, Jocelyn, Luke, etc are around the same age, he seemed older than the rest. But in the series, he's the around the same age with no graying hair. Its Valentine who in the series seems older than the rest of the former Circle members. Jace and Clary telling hodge that Valentine kidnapped Jocelyn. Its pains Hodge to talk about the Circle 'cause of some curse, but he does anyway.
Overwhelmed Clary runs, but Jace stops her. He eventually tells hers she doesn't remember is 'cause there's a block on her memory. Clary thinks its Dorothea who put the block.
Dorothea and Luke are in Clary's room. She tells him that she sent Clary to the police station, but he never saw her.
So as promised, Isabelle fixed Simon breakfast. They eat in what is probably her room.
Now its Clary and Isabelle in Isabelle's room after she hadn't Clary are more 'conservative' top. They have a slight girl talk.
Alec still hasn't warned up to Clary.
With the touch of her necklace, Clary gets a vision of Dorothea. Valentine's goons gets to Dorothea before Clay and the gang.
Jace suggests the Silent Brothers, but Alec and Isabelle are against it. Clary goes for it. So instead of a graveyard its looks like the City of Bones is under a bridge. Simon wants to go in with her. (Simon personally seems like a clingy friend. Personally I would annoyed in a heartbeat. All the power to Clary.) Isabelle offers to stay with Simon while Jace and Clary go in.
At the police station we really meet Alaric...at least I think its Alaric. Alaric is a close friend of Luke so its common sense to think its him.
The Silent Brothers are just as creepy as in the movie as in the series. Its a bit different.
The Siblings and Simon are hanging outside by the door. Isabelle and Simon (Seeing a pattern here?) head to the van for Simon's phone so Isabelle can hear Simon's 'prediction song' as we might as well call it. A noise is heard and Isabelle walks away leaving Simon in the locked van...alone or so its believed.
OK, so instead of passing out, well she don't, but she learns that Valentine is her father as suppose to its Luke (if I remember correctly) tells her that Valentine is her father. She does not take the news well. Just wait 'til she learns of her brother.
Dorothea breaks out of her cell, but the scene ends with her screaming.
Alec is curious about what happened. Jace tells him that Valentine is her father. Course he now thinks she a spy.
Isabelle appears with no Simon that she searched everywhere. Simon is suppose to disappear at Magnus' party by turning into rat. Inter our love to hate vampire friend Raphael dangling Simon over a bridge. He too wants the cup.

The only question I have so far, is are they gonna do the greenhouse scene?

Shadowhunters: The Mortal Cup

WARNING IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IT, THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS. While I don't have cable right now I was able to catch it on Hulu.  http://www.hulu.com/watch/892178#i0,p0,d0
The show opens up with Isabelle and Alec Lightwood and Jace Herondale (Sorry, but I'm using his biological name.) in pursuit of a demon and find themselves at Pandemonium, a night club where Jace bumps into Clary Fray. Standing nearby are Simon Lewis and Maureen.
But eight hours earlier Clary Fray walks into Brooklyn Academy of Art which Clary gets in.
Clary asks Simon over coffee that one so smart how can he be obvious not realize that the person sitting right in front of you is not in love with you? Simon's reply says that he's guaranteed he's not the only smart perceptive person making that same mistake.
The scene cuts to Luke Garroway a family friend and secretly likes Clary's mother. Luke went from a shaggy hair book owner to a clean cut cop? But they got Alaric right. Anyway he's investigating a series of demonic murders.
Clary arrives home and enters Madame Dorothea who went from a middle aged woman to her early thirties. She gives Clary a birthday gift for her 18th birthday, but isn't she suppose to be turning 16?
Jocelyn gives Clary her stele, but Clary doesn't get her mother's stele 'til around oh, I forgot. I wanna say City of Glass. She get's by with Jace's stele. Anway, Jocelyn says its an old family heirloom.
Jocelyn sits at the table and flashback's to 10 years ago while Clary was at the edge of a pond and demon shot out of it. Jocelyn takes Clary to Magnus Bane to wipe her memories.
At Java Jones Clary is talking about how protective her mother has gotten sitting atop the van with Simon and Maureen.
Isabelle is in awhile and dressed to kill. Alec makes a comment that she's distracting enough. I don't think that's something you should be commenting about your sister. Jace gives the lowdown about the demons their tracking with high tech computers.
Simon is singing a song about being forever young. Oh, irony. If he only knew.
This is where the opening reoccurs about Clary and Jace. Simon and Maureen think Clary's crazy, but she goes into the club anyway. Instead of a what was it? A closet, Jace pulls close a curtain. Clary sees Jace pull a what she sees is a knife on human, but really he pulls seraph blade on a shape-shifter. And the fight with demon's breaks out. Clary flees thinking she killed an actual human and runs into Magnus Bane.
At home Clary tells her mother what happened. Its then that Jocelyn reveals a bit, but Dorothea arrives to say that Magnus gave her the heads up that Circle members where outside. Jocelyn puts a necklace around Clary's neck. Dorothea opens a portal to take Clary to the policestation where Luke is.
The Circle members enter the antique shope. Dorothea is eventually thrown out the window while Jocelyn destory's Clary's room, fights, and takes the potion.
At the policestation Clary overhears the conversation with the circle members, but remember in the book she's with Jace when she overhears the conversation?
The scene cuts to Valentine at Chernobyl. Really? A radioactive city. No wonder he ain't been found. Jocelyn is there floating in like a bubble.
Clary heads home to find the place in shambles. She runs into Dorothea, but something is off. In the book its a dog that quickly turns into a Ravener demon and she gets bit on the on arm not the neck. She passes out at the institute, not the apartment.
Clary wakes up to Isabelle, not Jace as its suppose to be, but not to worry. He enters with Alec who is not happy that Clary's there. Isabelle and Alec then leave. Clary is still in nothing but a shirt. She don't realize 'til she gets up. He tells her about how the legends are true. He gives her the lowdown. Simon calls wondering what happened and that's when she finally gets up. He's outside, but all he sees is a rundown church. Simon think she's on meth. Isabelle left Clary a leather skirt, top, and tigh high about 5inch boots.
Clary arrives outside in Isabelle's outfit with Jace. A demon appears which Jace kills. Simon sees the demon dead in human form. Clary tell Jace to deglamourize to Simon won't think she's crazy.
Valentine is mad that Mortal Cup is still not in his hands. Valentine learns that Jocelyn has a daughter.

Fish In The Sea

"There are plenty of fish in the sea. But really, there's not. It's not just our imaginations. It would be great if decent men were as plentiful as jumping salmon in a rushing river, but they aren't. For every Mr. Darcy (and he's married, incidentally) there are a hundred Mr. Wickhams. Or in more contemporary terms, for ever one of Colin Firth, there are several thousand Hugh Grants. The odds are against us. But what can I say--I'm a romantic, and I can't abandon the fantasy of Prince Charming altogether. What girl with a heart can? I mean, I'm not asking to feed the five thousand; I just want one good fish!"

Quote from 'A Girl's Best Friend by Kristin Billerbeck.

Haunted White House

The iconic building in Washington, DC. Residence and office of the President of the USA. The attic is supposedly haunted by the short term President and the first to die in office is William Henry Harrison from Pneumonia a month after his inauguration. Other reports that the attic is also haunted by David Burns who was forced to surrender his land so the White House could be built.
The Rose Garden is commonly used for presidential announcements. First Lady Dolley Madison planted the garden in the early 1800's. Then First Lady Ellen Wilson requested the garden be dug up. Dolley Madison was not too pleased. Then again who can blame her. I'd be mad too.
The basement, but that's really no surprise there. The basement was reconstructed in the 1950's. The basement is said to be home of a kitty, but not just any kitty an demon cat. The cat is supposedly appears as a warning, like the Mothman from West Virginia.
The Second Floor Halls is reportedly haunted by President Lincoln, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, and First Lady Abigail Adams.
The Second Floor Bedrooms is reportedly haunted by a British soldier who tried to set fire to a couple's bed. Its said that the soldier is the one who set fire to the White House in 1812. President Lyndon B. Johnson's daughter Lynda reported seeing Lincoln's son Willie who died in her room. Reports of President Grover Cleveland's wife's screams could be heard. She's first to give birth in the white house. Was her ghost delivering a baby?
The Yellow Oval Room is Lincoln's favorite rooms. Would it surprise you if I said that Lincoln also haunts this room? David Burns, Presidents Thomas Jefferson and John Tyler have been reportedly seen.
The North Portico is reportedly haunted by a torch-wielding British officer is often seen outside the front door. The ghost of Ann Surratt, whose mother Mary was hanged in 1865 for the assassination of Lincoln. She's also seen on the front steps every July 7th, the anniversary of her mother's execution.
The East room is haunted by Abigail Adam. She would hang her laundry in that room. And Lincoln has also been spotted in The East Room as well.
The Rose Room is supposedly haunted by President Andrew Jackson. He could be heard either laughing or swearing. Lol, I would love to hear that, but Jackson ain't alone. Lincoln can be seen in this room as well. Queen Wilhemina of the Netherlands stayed in this room, answered a knocked on the door and was greeted by Lincoln.
Last and sure ya saw this one coming; The Lincoln Bedroom. Winston Churchill will never sleep in Lincoln's room after seeing him standing near the fireplace whom (Churchill) was just emerging from a bath in the buff. Maybe Lincoln was trying to burn his eyes out? I mean seeing a man standing naked in your room to a straight guy might be terrifying.

Titanic

Titanic was British ship that sank in April 15, 1912 after colliding with an iceberg. Over 1,500 lost their lives. Now a 103 years later it still gets talked about....kinda only when your referring to the movie staring Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio, but did you know that month after the sinking a survivor name Dorothy Gibson starred in a short movie called 'Saved From The Titanic'. It says though that the last prints were destroyed in a fire in 1914, but some print stills have survived. She was already a silent movie star before she boarded the famous ship.
But it wasn't only humans who also lost their lives that day. There were 12 dogs aboard the Titanic only three survived; two Pomeranian's and a Pekingese. Lucky for these dogs they were small and more likely went unnoticed, but sadly the dogs in the picture did not make it. One of the Pomeranian's was purchased in Paris by Margret Bechstein Heys, unknow Pomeranian name owned by Martin Rothschild who didn't survived the shipwreck, but his wife did. The Pekingese was named Sun Yat-Sen, owned by Henry  S. Harper.

Cheese Curds

Cheese curds are just bite size mozzarella sticks. They're good nonetheless.

Artisan-Style Sandwiches

Turkey BLT. A turkey sandwich served on ciabatta bun. Served with mayo, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and hickory smoked bacon.

I thought it was delicious. The bacon was actually good. It wan't gooey or dried up like most restaurant bacon is.

Hot Desserts A La Mode

The apple tart. I quote, "A flaky dessert-crust topped with apples, oatmeal crumble, drizzled with caramel. Served with soft serve vanilla ice cream."

It was good, but man was that sweet. It was sweet as they come. After eating this, you won't need anything sweet for awhile.

Fudge Stuffed Cookie. A warm chocolate chip stuffed fudge cookie served with soft serve vanilla ice cream drizzled with fudge.

I loved it. It wan't as sweet as the apple tart.

I'm not a fan of brownies, so I ain't gonna bother with the Triple Chocolate Brownie.

Candy Cane Oreo Blizzard

Dairy Queen blended Oreo cookies and candy cane piece together whipped together with white vanilla soft serve ice cream for the Christmas holiday.

And personally I love it.
