Cheese Curds
Cheese curds are just bite size mozzarella sticks. They're good nonetheless.

Artisan-Style Sandwiches
Turkey BLT. A turkey sandwich served on ciabatta bun. Served with mayo, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and hickory smoked bacon.
I thought it was delicious. The bacon was actually good. It wan't gooey or dried up like most restaurant bacon is.

Hot Desserts A La Mode
The apple tart. I quote, "A flaky dessert-crust topped with apples, oatmeal crumble, drizzled with caramel. Served with soft serve vanilla ice cream."
It was good, but man was that sweet. It was sweet as they come. After eating this, you won't need anything sweet for awhile.
Fudge Stuffed Cookie. A warm chocolate chip stuffed fudge cookie served with soft serve vanilla ice cream drizzled with fudge.
I loved it. It wan't as sweet as the apple tart.
I'm not a fan of brownies, so I ain't gonna bother with the Triple Chocolate Brownie.

Australia
A nation of trees, drab green and desolate grey
In the field uniform of modern wars,
Darkens her hills, those endless, outstretched paws
Of Sphinx demolished or stone lion warn away.
They call her a young country, but they lie;
She is the last of lands, the emptiest,
A woman beyond her change of life, a breast
Still tender but within the womb is dry.
Without songs, architecture, history;
The emotions and superstitions of younger lands,
Her rivers or water drown among inland sands,
The river of her immense stupidity
Floods her monotonous tribes from Cairns to Perth.
In them at last the ultimate men arrive
Whose boast is not: "we live" but "we survive",
A type who will inhabit the dying earth.
And her five cities, like five teeming sores,
Each drains her: a vast parasite robber-state
Where second-hand Europeans populate
Timidly on the edge of alien shores.
Yet there are some like me turn gladly home
From the lush jungle of modern thought, to find
The Arabian desert of the human mind,
Hoping, if still from the deserts the prophets come,
Such savage and scarlet as no green hills dare
Springs in that waste, some spirit which escapes
The learned doubt, the chatter of cultured apes
Which is called civilization over there.

Underprivileged Kids Left Out of School Carnival
As a person myself who grew up with limited income, I know the value of a dollar and understand that the parents I'm certain wanted their kids to enjoy themselves, but just couldn't afford it...or by chance religion, According to the article which I will post the links. The school over charged those who were able to attend anyway. My God, hearing the joys and laughs while the (let's just say it) poor watches some ole dumb movie...that they've probably already seen. I there were tears and sad faces. It also mentioned that one student thought they were being punished. Technically the school did punished them 'cause of their limited income.
On another note, it had to been planned in advance and the school already knew the income of the students parents 'cause it says they only had enough prizes for those who paid.
There were a few faculty members that were sadden by the outcome. The paid kids also received stuffed animal 'cause they were able to pay, but one teacher refused to give them out 'til she could add her own gifts for the underprivileged. Kudo's to her.
The carnival kids were also treated to popcorn afterwards so as not to hurt those who were punished 'cause of their income. Like they didn't hear the screams, laughter, and chatter outside. They're underprivileged, not deaf...though they're may have been a non hearing student at the school. I don't know.
I agree. The carnival was held during school hours making it FREE for all. The gold diggers should have waited 'til after school hours, or planned it on the weekend.

Tarzan Theory
Some say that Tarzan is Anna and Elsa's brother, but Tarzan's parents look nothing like Anna and Elsa's parents side by side. OK, some say due to being exposed to the sun can change hair color. I can personally vouch for that. My hair used to black, but through time it changed to auburn. There's no known back story to where were Tarzan's parents were headed as to Anna and Elsa's parents. The couple do look Irish..to me at least. I also came across a video on Youtube with Anastasia and Dimitri are Tarzan's parents who are Russian take place in early 1900's (least that's what I found). If correct both Tarzan and Anastasia then takes place in the 1900's, but again one is Russian while the other is English and Tarzan's parents look Irish.
It has been confirmed that Anna and Elsa's parents were going to a wedding (Rapunzel's), but there was a storm, while Tarzan's parents boat was on fire. On the short time Tarzan's parents were at sea and on the Island, changes could have occurred. Tarzan's parents were alive at least for a couple months or more for the tree house to looked lived in and their stuff washed ashore. Her hair might have change somewhat, but she wouldn't have turned into a full fledged redhead and going from blonde to brown? At least dirty blonde would be more like it. Its said that Frozen takes place in the 1840's. That's at least a 60 year difference. It also goes to say exactly as stated a wedding, they didn't die, they got washed up on shore in a jungle, gave birth to a son, built a treehouse, and was killed by a leopard...in that order as far as I know while Tarzan was apparently born on the ship, but yes a treehouse was built and his parents were killed by a wild cat. Tarzan and Frozen were directed by Chris Buck. Its more possible that he just used Tarzan's parents death as inspiration to Anna and Elsa's parents death creating a theory that's driving people insane trying to connect to people that look nothing alike. Is it working?
And lets not forget the supposedly ship in The Little Mermaid that Ariel finds. That takes place in the 1800's in Denmark (I believe. At least according to Youtube). That's at least a 100 years before Tarzan, but admittedly its around 40ish year difference between Frozen and The Little Mermaid. Years passed and Ariel is born and finds the long lost ship (that makes sense). But if Tarzan is the long lost brother of the Frozen sisters, what about that 60 year age gap? Tarzan would have been up in age when he met Jane and her father. So without a doubt to me, Tarzan is NOT the Frozen sister's long lost brother. Two different shipwreck's (One fire, one storm), and two different reasons for being in out on the open sea (unknown for Tarzan's and Rapunzel's wedding). Here's some links: http://disneytheory.com/2014/04/14/are-frozens-king-and-queen-actually-tarzans-parents/

Jane & Belle
Are they related? Terk can be see using tea pots as a drum in one of the scenes which looks exactly like the tea set from Beauty and the Beast. Namely Mrs. Potts and Chip. Not to mention that the curse was lifted and Chip and his mother became human again as well as the others who were cursed. That would have left the castled nearly empty 'cept for the once cursed. Belle went shopping and had some things custom made? Could it just be 'cause of her English background and just a coincidence? Belle is supposedly set in the year 1770's in France while Jane is from England in the early 1900's (least that's what I found).
Both have brown hair and favor the color yellow. Their father's are a little out there...and let's on forget the Duke of Weselton also looks like Jane's father, but Duke Weselton is German. Frozen was supposedly set somewhere in the 1800's (there's a variety of dates, but 1800's kept coming up) Norway. For all of 'em to be related, like most family they spread out. Belle's grandkid have to have met and married someone from Germany. Someone real close (a kid, grandkid, sibling), met and married someone from England. Through time, relatives do take on traits of their ancestors which is possibly why they look so much alike.

Jane and Belle tamed wild men. OK one was cursed and the other was feral.
This is just my theory. Personally Beauty and the Beast is my top favorite, followed by Frozen, and then Tarzan. I'm a reader so Belle will always be my favorite.

Are Schools Going Too Far?

I have came across many articles on Facebook about young girls being sent home. One girl got sent home 'cause of the shirt she was wearing in honor of her friend that committed suicide, The school even tore down the memorial the student had set up. Another was a kindergartner who had on a maxi dress. How scandalous at that age. There was a girl who got sent home 'cause apparently shoulders are the new faze that guys are attracted too. What guy is gonna say how sexy your shoulders are? This young girl got sent home 'cause her gorgeous red dress was too revealing when it fact it was nothing more than body slamming. And this young girl got sent home 'cause Spring dresses are scandalous. The young girl to the right got sent home 'cause apparently sport shirts and leggings are scandalous. There's probably more, which I missed.
Update. I have since added two more links. Check 'em out.

CSI: Las Vegas
After 15 years CSI: Las Vegas has come to an end. Las Vegas is the oldest of the franchise with Miami, New York, and the Cyber (the baby). To end the long running show, there is suppose to be a movie with Catherine Willows and Gill Grissom making an appearance. The first time I watched it was the roller coaster episode and was hooked from that moment on...'til the original cast member's started to disappear. I lost tract. I catch it when I can, if I didn't, it wan't no loss to me. Which to me was the downfall, but I really hoped it would outlast Cyber and my personal opinion on that, is the worst of the franchise.
My favorite character is Nick Stokes 'cause of his southern background. He had kind of brotherly bond towards Warrick Brown (my second favorite).Grissom. To me, he was their boss, yes, but he did become like a second father to certain members of his team.
Sara. She was abused, so in cases involving that are always the toughest.
Catherine. Was a former showgirl who wanted to better herself..and wanted to make her daughter proud.
Warrick. As far as I know is the only one born and raised in Las Vegas. He also had gambling problem.
Greg. The youngest of the team and it showed.
Jim Brass. A former marine who has didn't see eye to eye with his daughter.
David Hodges. Kiss up especially to Grissom.
Dr. Al Robbins. Coroner.
Here's a list of other long running shows. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_longest-running_U.S._primetime_television_series#Scripted_television_series

Mother's Day
For my mother I created a mini cactus garden.
Here's some gift idea's:
- Flowers and chocolate. Never can go wrong...less she's allergic. Can opt for fake flowers in a pretty vase.
- Make something. That's always a winner. Its from the heart, even though the materials are store brought.
- A video montage.
- Shirts...which is usually easy to guesstimate. Fine a pretty design with something she likes.
- Perfume...as long as she don't have asthma.
- A nice supper. Make her, her favorites or take her to her favorite restaurant.
- And don't forget the Mother's Day card.
- And don't forget lost loved mother's on this special day.

Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Robert Frost
Among School Children
I walk through the long school room questioning
A kind old nun in a white hood replies;
The children learn to cipher and to sing,
To study. reading books, and history,
To cut and sew, be neat in everything
In the best modern way-the children's eyes
In momentary wonder stare upon
A sixty year old smiling public man.

Porphyria's Lover
Porphyria's Lover
By Robert Browning
(1812-1889)
The rain set early in tonight.
The sullen wind was soon awake.
It tore the elm-tops down for spite
and it did its worst to vex the lake.
I listened with heart fit to break.
When glided in Porphyria; straight.
She shut the cold out and the storm
and kneeled and made the cheerless grate.
Blaze up, and all the cottage warm.
Which done, she rose and from her from
and laid her soiled gloves by, untied
her hat and let the damp hair fall.
And last she sat down by my side
and called me.
When no voice replied,
she put my arm about her waist,
and all her yellow hair displaced,
and, stooping, made my cheek lie there
and spread, o'er all, her yellow hair.
Murmuring how she loved me-she
too weak for all her heart's endeavor
to set its struggling passion free
from pride and vainer ties dissever.
And give herself to me forever.
But passion sometimes would prevail.
Nor could tonight's gay feast restrain
a sudden thought of one so pale.
For love of her and all in vain.
So she was come through wind and rain.
Be sure I looked up at her eyes.
Happy and proud at last I knew.
Porphyria worshiped me; surprise
Made my heart swell and still it grew.
While I debated what to do.
That moment she was mine, mine fair.
Perfectly pure and good: I found
a thing to do and all her hair
in one long yellow string I wound.
Three times her little throat around
and strangled her. No pain felt she;
I am quite sure she felt no pain.
As a shut bud that hold a bee
I warily opened her lids; again
laughed the blue eyes without a stain.
And I untightened next the tress
about her neck, her cheek once more.
Blushed bright beneath my burning kiss
I propped her head up as before.
Only this time my shoulder bore
her head, which droops upon it still.
The smiling rosy little head.
So glad it has its utmost will.
That all it scorned at once is fled.
And I, its love, am gained instead!
Porphyria's love; she guessed not how
her darling one wish would be heard.
And thus we sit together now.
And all night long we have not stirred.
And yet God has not said a word!

Snow Flakes
By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Out of the bosom of the air,
out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
over the woodlands brown and bare,
over the harvest-fields forsaken,
silent, and soft, and slow
descends the snow.
Even as our cloudy fancies take
suddenly shape in some divine expression,
even as the troubled heart doth make
in the white countenance confession,
the troubled sky reveals
the grief it feels.
This is the poem of the air,
slowly in the silent syllables recorded;
this is the secret of despair,
long in its cloudy bosom hoarded,
now whispered and revealed
to wood and field.

Hilarious Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is closing in and I wanna share something that happened one Thanksgiving a few years back.
Of course it was a typical Thanksgiving day. Skip forward to the cooking. The food is halfway done. When my bird Max comes flying into the kitchen. She crawled out from a crack underneath my door. This was first of many escapes from her. She landed in the mash potatoes. Did I mention that my four cats and dog was also inside? A flying bird certainly got the cats attention. Though she didn't end up as Thanksgiving snack. I grabbed her from the mash potatoes and took her to my room and stuck her in the cage. She didn't like that. She called be a 'bitch'. The mash potatoes were thrown out and the bowl placed in the sink. Fresh mash potatoes were made. The cats and dog were getting antsy with the smell. Finally everything was done and we sit down to eat. The dog on floor with Buttercup, Socks on the chair with my sister, and Shadow and Moonshine were on the table....were the food was trying to take food from out plates. Buttercup and Bandit were kinda the smart ones. The turkey was kept on top the stoves. Buttercup jumps on the counter and Bandit stands on his hind legs. Mama jumps up and puts the turkey back inside the oven. Socks jumps over on mama's chair and just takes her slips of turkey before we even had a chance to react without even touching anything else on her plate though she did give the cats and Bandit the remains of her plate anyway and slips of turkey so that we can finish eating in peace.
Thanksgiving is especially a challenge if you have pets and you could wind up with a funny memory that will last a lifetime. But you wouldn't change a thing.

Classic Cartoons
The controversy continues over the classics and how they influence the kids.
The newest aimed is the lovable Winnie the Pooh all 'cause he only in a shirt. Its a silent way of saying going half naked is OK. That's what their basically saying. The PARENTS are the one's that buys their kids clothes. DON'T BUY CLOTHES THAT SHOWS EXCESSIVE SKIN FOR KIDS. He's a teddy bear for crying out loud. If your kid is going half naked, I think the parents are to blame. I think Mari Stroman McGoldrick (facebook) says it best: Donald Duck don''t wear pants either and neither does his nephews. Minnie and Daisy's dresses are really short. Bugs and Daffy are naked with the exception of costumes and wearing drag. Then there's Betty Boop and her infamous sexy red dress. Tom & Jerry and their fights. Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote. The list just goes on and on into the Disney realm. Ariel changes herself for a guy.
The most cartoons today are just completely ridiculous and highly stupid. If you're kids don't realize that cartoons are just that, cartoons. They're not real. Then that fault lies with the parents who's kids have hurt themselves mimicking the classics.
The classics will ALWAYS be the best.

Balance
Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God was missing for six days.
Eventually, Michael the archangel found him, resting on the seventh day. He inquired of God, "Where have you been?"
God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, "Look, Michael, look what I've made."
Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, "What is it?"
"It's a planet," replied God, "and I've put LIFE on it. I'm going to call it Earth and it's going to be a great place of balance."
"Balance?" inquired Michael, still confused.
God explained, pointing to different parts of Earth, "For example, Northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth while Southern Europe is going to be poor; the Middle East over there will be a hot spot and the Antarctica in the South will be very cold. Over there I've placed a continent of white people and over there is a continent of black people. God continued, pointing to different countries.
"This one will be extremely hot and arid while this one will be very cold and covered in ice."
The Archangel, impressed by God's work, then pointed to a large area and asked, "What's that one?"
"Ah," said God. That's the SOUTH, the most glorious place on Earth. There are beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers, streams and an exquisite coastline. The people from there are going to be modest, intelligent and humorous and they're going to be found traveling the world. They'll be extremely sociable, hardworking and high-achieving, and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace. A truly great people."
Michael gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed, "What about balance, God? You said there will be BALANCE."
God replied wisely..."Wait until you see the loudmouth obnoxious people I'm putting north of them.
Kick Your A**
1) Don't order filet mignon or pasta primavera at Waffle House. It's just a diner. They serve breakfast 24 hours a day. Let them cook something they know. If you confuse them, they'll kickyour ass.
2) Don't laugh at our Southern names (Merleen, Bodie, Ovine, LutherRay, Tammy Lynn, Darla Beth, Inez, Billy Joe, Sissy, Clovis,etc.). Or we will just HAVE to kick your ass.
3) Don't order a bottle of pop or a can of soda. Down here it's called Coke. Nobody gives a flying damn whether it's Pepsi, RC, Dr. Pepper, 7-Up or whatever -- it's still just a Coke. Accept it. Doing otherwise can lead to an ass kicking.
4) We know our heritage. Most of us are more literate than you e.g., Welty, Williams, Faulkner. We are also better educated and generally a lot nicer. Don't refer to us as a bunch of hillbillies, or we'll kick your ass.
5) We have plenty of business sense (e.g., Fred Smith of Fed Ex, Turner Broadcasting, MCI WorldCom, MTV, Netscape). Naturally we do, sometimes, have small lapses in judgment e.g., Carter, Edwards, Duke, Barnes, Clinton). We don't care if you think we are dumb. We are not dumb enough to let someone move to our state in order to run for the Senate. If someone tried to do that, we would kick their ass.
6) Don't laugh at our Civil War monuments. If Lee had listened to Longstreet and flanked Meade at Gettysburg instead of sending Pickett up the middle, you'd be paying taxes to Richmond instead of Washington. If you visit Stone Mountain and complain about the carving, we'll kick your ass.
7) We are fully aware of how high the humidity is, so shut the hell up. Just spend your money and get the hell out of here, or we'll kick your ass.
8) Don't order wheat toast at Cracker Barrel. Everyone will instantly know that you're a Yankee. Eat your biscuits like God intended -- with gravy. And don't put sugar on your grits, or we'll kick your ass.
9) Don't fake a Southern accent. This will incite a riot, and you will get your ass kicked.
10) Don't talk about how much better things are at home because we know better. Many of us have visited Northern shit holes like Detroit, Chicago, and DC, and we have the scars to prove it. If you don't like it here, Delta is ready when you are. Move your ass on home before it gets kicked.
11) Yes, we know how to speak proper English. We talk this way because we don't want to sound like you. We don't care if you don't understand what we are saying. All other Southerners understand what we are saying, and that's all that matters. Now, go away and leave us alone, or we'll kick your ass.
12) Don't complain that the South is dirty and polluted. None of OUR lakes or rivers have caught fire recently. If you whine about OUR scenic beauty, we'll kick your ass all the way back to Boston Harbor.
13) Don't ridicule our Southern manners. We say sir and ma'am. We hold doors open for others. We offer our seats to old folks because such things are expected of civilized people. Behave yourselves around our sweet little gray-haired grandmothers or they'll kick some manners into your ass just like they did ours.
14) So you think we're quaint or losers because most of us live in the countryside? That's because we have enough sense not to live in filthy, smelly, crime-infested cesspools like New York or Newark. Make fun of our fresh air, and we'll kick your ass.
15) Last, but not least, DON'T DARE come down here and tell us how to cook barbecue. This will get your ass shot (right after it is kicked). You're lucky we let you snowbirds come down here at all. Criticize our barbeque, and you will go home in a pine box -- minus your ass.
